HEA-275 Kinesiology & Pub Hea Int

Explore professional roles in health, fitness, rehabilitation, and human performance settings. Apply theoretical knowledge to real-world practice by engaging in supervised, hands-on experiences at worksite locations including physical therapy, athletic training, personal training, health department and non-profit public health organizations. Perform 40 hours of work-based learning cumulative during the 8-week internship combined with a minimum of 5 hours of faculty contact to include site coordination and reflection on learning. Course may be repeated for a total of three credit hours. Prerequisites: 1) Kinesiology or Public Health major; 2) Successful completion of at least 9 credit hours in the program of study; 3) Minimum GPA of 3.0; and 4) Approval of academic chair or coordinator prior to enrollment.
